Klopp’s assistant Buvac quits Liverpool, leaving few eyebrows raised

Feed Football Editor April 30, 2018

Twitter gone frenzy when the news about Buvac quitting Liverpool broken out and it was a surprise for many out there. However,  Liverpool released a statement which mentions that Buvac is spending some time away from the first-team environment, between now and the end of the season, for personal reasons. Jurgen Klopp and Zeljko Buvac has been together for 17 years and it will be some story if they decide to pull apart, considering the circumstances and the project they are in at the moment.

#LFC insist Zeljko Buvac has not quit as Klopp's No 2. But he will be absent for the rest of the season due to personal reasons. #LFC #Buvac

Jürgen Klopp’s @LFC number two, Zeljko Buvac to spend time away from 1st team environment from now till end of season. Club says it’s a private matter.

Assistant manager Zeljko Buvac 'will spend time away from #LFC's first-team between now and the end of the season, for personal reasons. He remains a Liverpool employee and his position at the club is not effected by this absence.'

Couple of thoughts on Buvac. Him and Klopp have had huge rows before but always made up. This might not be the end of the story. Short term effect is negligible but Klopp will want somebody else to bounce ideas off next season if he doesn’t come back.

Does the developing @LFC news on Buvac mean Klopp should look to Gerrard to assist him for the remaining games? Although @RangersFC want him, Stevie G’s presence on the bench in the ChampionsLeague Final would be huge! @talkSPORT from 10.

People who are calling for Gerrard to take Buvac’s spot as Klopp’s right hand man wants their sentimental little heads tested. I would argue that Buvac was even ahead of Klopp as a tactician, so it’s a massive void to fill. Gerrard nowhere close to that level yet. #LFC

Imagine Buvac genuinely was the brain, like completely. He leaves and Klopp fields Bogdan up front in the final and his pre match tactical talk is "jump high enough to dunk the ball in the hoop"

This doesn't sound like an easy decision on behalf of Buvac, on the eve of the Champions League conclusion.
Personal reasons could be a number of things, so before anything else – I hope he, and his family are okay. pic.twitter.com/ahPxaVbOXW
