It was a very well deserved recognition for the Spanish maestro. The Premier League Manager of the Season is an annual association football award presented to managers in English Premier League. It recognizes the manager who has done the most astounding job in the Premier League each season. The recipient is chosen by a panel assembled by the league's sponsor (currently Barclays) and is announced in the month of May. The award was established for the 1993/94 season and Alex Ferguson was the first recipient of the award for retaining the Premier League back then.
