Cristiano Ronaldo dived and signalled for VAR

Feed Football Editor June 20, 2018

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 85th goal for Portugal on his 152nd appearance for Portugal and helped his team yearn all three points against an unlucky Morocco side who produced numerous chances but failed convert any of them and bowed out of the World Cup.

We have seen the best of Ronaldo in this world cup and today we have seen the worst of him as well, as soon after he smashed a free kick straight into the Moroccan wall, Ronaldo blatantly dived and signalled for VAR.

That dive in area by Ronaldo proof it is possible to be World's best player and a bit of a nob at same time pic.twitter.com/VSXz6HFyhd

Why did Ronaldo dive then signal for the VAR? He knew he’d dived – what did he think the replay would show?

Disgraceful dive from Ronaldo. GET HIM OFF THE FIELD

    — Coral (@Coral) June 20, 2018

Only Ronaldo would dive and then ask for it to be checked by VAR 🤣

Imagine the backlash Messi would get if he were to play as badly as Ronaldo did today, and then dive like that. The media would eat Messi alive.

Ronaldo loves a dive, should be a part of the Portuguese diving team instead of the football team!

I just want to have the confidence of Ronaldo asking for a foul on a blatant dive once in my life

Asking for VAR in what is a pathetic dive. Ronaldo = CHEAT https://t.co/i9LkKSi0Cw
